LAUNCH TIME: Launch from White Pelican any time from 9:00AM - 1:00 PM.  
DESCRIPTION: From the launch point at the Oregon, IL dam, you'll float under Route 64, picking  
up speed.  After that, you'll enjoy a calm river that bends under a 1920s railway bridge, past 20'
sandstone bluffs, stands of maple and white pines (with a bald eagle's nest!) before finally coming to
the pick-up location at Castle Rock State Park

Grand Detour

Duration: 3.5 - 4 hours
Launch TIme:  Launch from White Pelican any time from 9:00 AM-11:00 aM.  
Description: After passing the Castle Rock State Park takeout, you'll be treated to some of the area's
tallest sandstone bluffs, home to acrobatic cave swallows that dart and dive along the water's  
edge.  Weaving around small islands, you'll find narrow channels to explore before arriving at the pick-up location at Grand Detour.

 TUBe & RAFT Float - Castle Rock

  Duration: 3 - 3.5 hours
  Morning trip:  Launch from White Pelican any time from 9:00AM - 12:00 PM .  Pick up is at 3:00 PM.

  Duration: Day One - 3 hours.  Day two - 1 hour
  Morning trip:  Launch from White Pelican from 12:30 - 4:00 PM . Next-day pick up at 11:00 AM.
  Description: After passing the Castle Rock State Park takeout, you'll enjoy towering sandstone
  bluffs and river islands before coming to shore at one of the area's hidden gems:  Castle Rock's
  Canoe-Only Campground.  Experience peaceful primitive-style camping with access to miles of hiking
  trails to fill your evening or morning.  The next day, take a liesurely one-hour float to the
  take-out at Grand Detour.  Please practice responsible wilderness ethics: Leave no Trace -- pack it in,
