Lowden State Forest has hiking trails along the Rock River in a forested area. There is a tall stand of White Pines that were planted in the early 1900s by Governor Lowden and are beleived to be some of the oldest planted white pines in the state (see white pines state park for a native white pines stand). Some hikes bring you to scenic overlooks on 120 ft. bluffs over the Rock River!
